The main purpose of The Danish Knowledge Centre for Palliative Care (PAVI) during 2009-2011 is to carry out surveys and projects that shed light on the field of palliative care in Denmark.
In the first half of 2009 the centre conducted a survey with the purpose of describing the structural conditions of specialised palliative care in Denmark. Results from this survey were presented at a Danish national conference in February 2010, arranged by PAVI, and are currently being prepared for international publication.
During the last half of 2009, PAVI conducted a survey to determine the basic level of palliative care in Denmark. A nationwide sample of leaders of local home care services were invited to participate in the survey. The material from this study are currently being analysed.
The Danish Knowledge Centre for Palliative Care will elaborate on the findings from the aforementioned surveys during 2010 and 2011. In 2011, PAVI plans to carry out a major survey regarding palliative care within Danish hospitals.
